The farm bill debate continues to slowly take shape as 2 of the Senate's Ag Committee members spoke about their views on the bill.
LITTLE ROCK - Two members of the U.S. Senate's agriculture committee vowed Wednesday to fight for full farm bill funding, despite resistance from urban lawmakers and other countries.``The fact is, there are fewer and fewer members of Congress representing rural states or districts that depend on an agriculturally based economy, not to mention fewer and fewer members of Congress that actually have a direct relationship with production agriculture,'' said Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark.Lincoln, a farmer's daughter, spoke at a farm bill forum alongside Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., whose son-in-law is a farmer. The forum, sponsored by the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, drew farmers, state lawmakers and students, among others.
