Colleen Callahan Officially Enters Race for Congress

Colleen Callahan officially entered the race for Congress in Illinois 18th Congressional District:

Longtime farm-radio broadcaster Colleen Callahan hopes to follow in her family’s political footsteps. She announced her candidacy for the 18th Congressional District on Monday in Springfield, Peoria and Quincy.

Callahan’s uncle, Gene Callahan, now retired, was an Illinois political activist and former Major League Baseball lobbyist. Her grandfather was a state representative, and her father was active in Iroquois County Democratic politics.

Callahan, a 57-year-old Peoria County resident, is running against state Rep. Aaron Schock, R- Peoria, for the congressional seat held by U.S Rep. Ray LaHood, R-Peoria, who is retiring.
