Johanns wins Nebraska Senate Seat

Former Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns won his race for the US Senate in Nebraska yesterday. Johanns stepped down early from the USDA to pursue the race.

He was a Republican governor in one of the reddest states, and part of President Bush's cabinet. Now for the first time in his political career, Mike Johanns finds himself in the minority, as the Senator-Elect from Nebraska. "In the
United States Senate the majority and minority must work together," Johanns
said. Johanns points out he's worked with many senators, when he was
Secretary of Agriculture andgovernor before that. He said, "I have met
Sen. Obama. I don't know him well but he campaigned on a theme of 'look let's
put this behind us, let's work together.'"
