The National Agriculture Center and Hall of Fame in western Wyandotte County is in desperate need of a few good ideas that will allow it to stay open.
Executive director Tim Daugherty hopes it can find them because the lessons the center can teach are more important than ever before.
“We are in search of a new business model that can help us address financial shortfalls and at the same time tell the story of agriculture,” Daugherty said. “Our role is more important than it was 15 years ago.”
Many people don’t understand where their food comes from, Daugherty said. And looking to the future, he hopes to promote food safety.
